Migration Culture: Labor Day
On a day like today, September 4, 2023, if you have recently arrived in the United States or are planning to go to this country, it is extremely important to know the important dates. One of the dates is the first Monday of every September when we celebrate “Labor Day.” This day reminds Americans of the importance of workers’ rights and gives them a well-deserved day of rest. It is a day that commemorates the hard work and dedication of workers, and their valuable contribution to the prosperity of society.
On this date, most state and private companies are closed. If a worker works for this date, he or she must be paid double.
Remember that US embassies and consulates in other countries are closed today.
Let´s wish an American friend and family a “ Happy Labor Day”
